Epiphany was commissioned by Arthur Ridley Esq to provide analysis into the global landscape of luxury fashion brands online.

The report provides a detailed insight into how these brands are handling their international search marketing strategies and findings were presented by Martin Bartle at the Walpole Luxury eBusiness Forum in October 2013.

The global luxury market continues to show strong performance, driven primarily by emerging markets, the research focused in particular on the “BRIC” countries (Brazil, Russia, India & China) and the Australian market.

In addition to researching both paid and search strategies, our analysts reviewed domain structuring and localised content to understand which brands were effectively engaging in international search.

The key findings of the report:

  • A high number of these sites are not actively targeting all of the territories analysed -  Brazil, Russia, India, China, Australia
  • No brand had PPC adverts live in each one of the countries researched and very few had adverts in five or even four of those countries
  •  Aside from the UK, China appears to hold the most online marketing focus of the luxury brands
